Unit 9: Exercise – Setting Tenant-Wide Properties

Objective

Practice modifying tenant display name and reviewing important tenant metadata.

Change the Tenant Display Name

• In Azure portal → Microsoft Entra ID → Properties.
• Change the Name field (e.g., Contoso Marketing Company → Contoso Marketing Company 2).
• Select Save.

Find Country/Region and Location

• In Properties, review Country/region and Location under Tenant properties.
• Note: These are immutable once set.

Find the Tenant ID

• In the same screen, locate the Tenant ID (a unique GUID).
• Used by applications, scripts, and subscription authentication.

Add Technical and Privacy Contacts

In Properties:

• Enter Technical contact (e.g., admin@contoso.com).
• Enter Global privacy contact (e.g., privacy@contoso.com).
• Add a Privacy statement URL (e.g., https://contoso.com/privacy).

This ensures users and Microsoft have the correct channels for support and compliance communication.
